Product fees 

The Polish legislator, every few years, introduces new fees of quasi-tax nature including for example: 

  • fee on foodstuffs (so-called “sugar tax”), 
  • additional fee on using wholesale trading permit in alcoholic beverages (so-called “fee for small formats”), 
  • fee on advertising services for alcoholic beverages (so-called “beer tax”), 
  • fuel fee, 
  • issue fee. 

For the purposes of collecting these fees, separate from other taxes declaration and settlement rules are often implemented which only complicates an already complex tax system.
