About me

Wojciech Ostapowicz is a legal counsel and a licensed tax advisor. He specializes in tax advisory services, especially in the area of indirect taxes. He represents clients before tax authorities and administrative courts.

Wojciech is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. He obtained a diploma from the Center for English and European Law at the University of Warsaw in cooperation with the University of Cambridge. He has been a tax advisor since 2009 and a member of the Warsaw Bar Association since 2011.

Professional experience 

Wojciech Ostapowicz began his professional career in the tax department in one of the Big Four companies. He subsequently accumulated over 13 years of experience as a tax law specialist in the Warsaw office of the U.S.-based law firm Greenberg Traurig (formerly Dewey Ballantine and Dewey & LeBoeuf), running his own legal counsel practice.

Wojciech specializes in tax advisory services, which include: 

  • ongoing tax advisory services, in particular for clients in the real estate, manufacturing, and construction sectors,
  • conducting tax audits, including due diligence reviews
  • assisting in tax structuring of real estate sales/acquisitions
  • conducting tax litigation, including representing clients before administrative courts and the Supreme Administrative Court
  • securing taxpayers’ tax positions by obtaining individual tax law interpretations
  • assisting in VAT refund proceedings and preparing for such refunds

Wojciech has extensive experience in resolving tax issues specific to various market sectors, including the real estate sector (with a focus on real estate transactions), manufacturing, and construction industries. 

Lectures and Publications 

Wojciech has conducted many workshops and training sessions for clients, especially in indirect taxes. He has authored numerous publications on tax-related topics, which have appeared in both the daily press (Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, Rzeczpospolita) and professional tax magazines (Monitor Podatkowy).

He is highly recommended specialist in the “Transaction Advisory” category in the Rzeczpospolita tax advisory ranking (2022, 2023).
