Piotr is a lawyer and Polish Certified Tax Advisor (since 2003, license 09956).
Professional experience
Piotr graduated from Law Faculty of Wrocław University in 2000 and started his career in Tax Department of Arthur Andersen in Poland. In 2002, together with other members of Andersen's tax team, he joined Ernst & Young. In 2003 he was seconded to Ernst & Young Nederland where he worked in Amsterdam office.
Between 2004 and 2005 he was a tax associate in Warsaw office of US based law firm Dewey Ballantine.
Since 2006 Piotr worked for Accreo Taxand – the Polish Member Firm of Taxand, and earlier this year he founded a tax advisory company Enodo Advisors.
His main specialization is indirect taxation. While in Accreo Taxand, he was a member of Global Steering Committee supervising Indirect Tax Service Line within the Taxand network.
He is also experienced in tax litigation and represented clients in numerous proceedings in front of tax authorities and administrative courts, including Supreme Administrative Court.
During his career (in Ernst & Young and Taxand Poland) Piotr was a member of teams specializing in advisory for real estate industry. Within this area, he worked on various income tax issues, including structuring of real estate investments from perspective of income tax, as well as transaction advisory and due diligence reviews.
His projects included planning of international structures with respect to ownership and financing of investments in real estate, as well as on-going tax advisory for various clients in real estate sector. He led teams carrying out tax reviews, due diligence related to real estate investments and reviews preparing clients for VAT refunds.
Lectures and publications
Piotr is co-author of first commentary to the EU VAT Directive published on the Polish market and author of numerous articles in Polish (e.g. Przegląd Podatkowy, Monitor Podatkowy, and Jurysdykcja Podatkowa) and international (International Tax Review) tax press.
Piotr also led trainings on indirect tax issues both in Poland (e.g. conferences organized by MMC Polska, Institute for International Research) and abroad (Taxand's Indirect Service Line annual conferences).
